Heaven For Christians Only According To The New Testament?!
April 2012 Bulletin
Without contradiction, the Bible answers "Yes" & "No"! A dozen or more Scriptures say that--since the Cross--only those who have accepted Jesus can go to Heaven. (Acts 4:12; etc.) True…But!
Is that the end of it on this hugely troubling Salvation subject? Does it mean that the Biblical Father God, Jesus, and Holy Spirit have--since 33 A.D.--mercilessly and unfairly pre-condemned hundreds of millions--even billions--of people to a Dantean torture-chamber Hell or Eternal Death? Have They done this knowing full well that those millions and billions never even heard of the Bible or Jesus…or had no reason or opportunity to understand what little they might have heard??
Not at all!! Anyone, anyone at all can know of the equally plain and plentiful Scriptures which prove that Jesus guarantees a separate resurrection and judgment of that non-Christian multitude, and guarantees that many in that resurrection will be saved by Jesus and go to Heaven.
Given the widespread Christian Church teaching that only avowed Christians can hope to enter the Biblical Heaven, how can there be Biblical proof that the teaching is incomplete and very, very wrong?! Well, you can read. You determine what the true Biblical teaching is:
The principle for all of God's Judgment on ALL mankind is seen in Romans 2:11-16 where that principle for that Judgment covers the Old Testament Law and the Christian era.
"…for there is no respect of persons with God. For as many as have sinned without law, shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law. (For not the hearers of the law are just in the sight of God, but the doers of the law shall be justified. For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, not having the law, are a law unto themselves, who show the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the meanwhile accusing or else excusing them), in the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my Gospel."
IOW: God judges those not subject to the law or the Gospel by their works. There is a resurrection of this multitude in John 5:28,29: "…the hour is coming, in the which ALL that are in the graves shall hear His [Jesus'] voice, and shall come forth; they that have done good to the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation." These are those of which Jesus said: "And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold [Jn. 10:7-16]: them also I must bring, and the shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold and one shepherd" (v.16).
Though both resurrections occur on the last day of this earth's history, this one is separate from that of dead (and living) Christians who are ALL saved and Heaven bound. (I Thess. 4:13-18). John 3:5-16 says that one must be "born again" to be saved, speaking only of the Christian sheepfold. I John 2:29 gives the criteria for Christ's "other sheep fold": "If you know that He [Jesus] is righteous, you know that every one that doeth righteousness is born of Him."
"Amazing Grace": Yes, yes! But Christians must also produce Christian works suitable for Salvation. "Faith without works is dead" (James 2:20, Eph. 2:10). The "other sheep fold" is judged solely on the "works" of the individuals. These show God they had the heart to be righteous "born of Jesus" Christians as seen in Romans 2:11-16; I John 2:29; Rev. 20:12; etc.
God sent Jesus to Save the world, not condemn it (John:3:17). The opening of "the book of life and the judgment of the dead according to their works settles it" (Rev. 20:12,13). We know that these are those of the "other sheepfold", because the raptured Christians are already judged heaven bound (I Thess. 4:13-18). Jesus then presents BOTH FOLDS to God (Jude 24).
